Legislation Updates - 24/06/2026

24/06/2026

6 weeks into the Renters Rights Act and we are seeing a lot of practical questions in relation to tenant changeovers, deposits, Landlords returning to property and what happens if the business is in a LTD ownership. There is no doubt that there will be more questions than answers until we see case law agreed in the courts.

Another change pending and where we have updated all Able Agent content is the MEES – Energy efficiency standards and pending changes and the DMCC Act. All of which has been updated in the platform.

We regularly update our content and whilst you wont be examined on law that is “coming soon” our ebooks will always keep you ahead of the changes.

01/05/2026 Renters’ Rights Act

Renters’ Rights Act goes Live on the 1st May introducing new rules around tenancy agreements and discrimination.

30/4/2025 Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers (DMCC) Act 2024

The DMCC Act replaces the Consumer Protection Regulations. The DMCC Act material information principles remain the same as the CPRs.

InHouse Platform changes

Renters’ Rights Act and Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers (DMCC) Act 2024 content is now up to date throughout the platform.

Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 (DMCC Act)

This legislation replaced the CPRs in April 2025

Training materials and exam questions will refer to the DMCC Act (formerly the CPRs), recognising that while the DMCC Act replaces and builds on the CPRs, many of the core principles remain relevant in practice.

In addition, a new enhanced learning course, Consumer Regulations, Material Information and DMCC Act, is now available to support your understanding of these updates. This has replaced our old material information course that was withdrawn due to out of date content. In addition our core Compliance course has also been updated.

Renters’ Rights Act

You have a choice whether to sit the current qualification exam until 31st July 2026 OR do the updated content and sit the NEW qualification exam post 1st June 2026.

We recommend that unless you have completed all training that you should wait until the 1st June and be examined on the updated content.

How do I know what to study?

You will see 2 new Qualificati0n pathway options in your dashboard, so you can choose to follow old or new legislation content for CeLAP or CePAP.

Qualification exams

Our qualification exams will reflect these changes from 1st June to give everyone a chance to work with the new legislation. We believe this will help maintain our exceptional first-time qualification pass rates.

Customers on our white label platform will be contacted by our support team once the updates are live. Anyone currently registered to sit their qualification will be contacted by us.

Changes to The Platform

These changes will mean that within your platform you will see a number of updates. Namely, new courses will automatically be added to your bundle package and the listing of the version of qualifications. If you have any issues with these please contact support.

You will see in the ‘qualifications’ dashboard an update that displays a higher number of qualifications displaying previous and new versions of relevant qualifications.

Additionally we have extended the ‘Learning Pathways’ feature so you can create and search more customised learning journeys.
