Whatever your own view of AI, there is a good chance that someone in your agency is already using it.
They may be asking ChatGPT to write a property description, improve an email, produce a social media post or help them respond to a difficult customer. It may be saving them time – but do you know what information they are entering, whether they are checking the answer or if the finished work still sounds like your agency?
This is why we have created the new Able Agent AI for Estate and Letting Agents course, coming soon.
AI needs more than a few clever prompts
There is plenty of advice available about what AI can do, but much less practical guidance about how it should be used in an estate or letting agency.
AI can be genuinely helpful. A negotiator could use it to improve the first draft of a follow-up email. A lister could use it to organise verified property information into a description. A property manager could turn their inspection notes into a clearer landlord update.
However, the person using it still needs to know what a good result looks like.
AI can misunderstand a request, leave out important information or confidently produce something that is simply wrong. It does not know your customer, your local market or your agency’s processes unless you give it the right information -and there will be information that should never be entered into a public AI tool.
The answer is not to ignore AI or allow everyone to use it without guidance. Agencies need to help their teams understand how to use it properly.
Created for estate and letting agents
Our new course focuses on the ways AI can support the work agents already do.
It covers writing useful prompts, improving communications, creating property and marketing content, checking material information, supporting LinkedIn activity and identifying everyday tasks that could be completed more efficiently.
It also looks at the areas where agencies need to be careful, including confidentiality, personal data, accuracy, compliance and the risk of relying on an answer simply because it sounds convincing.
The course is not about replacing people or removing the personal side of agency. Good agents understand customers, notice when something does not feel right and make decisions based on their experience. AI cannot replicate that.
What it can do is help a good agent get started more quickly, organise information and spend less time on repetitive work. That should create more time for conversations, follow-up, progressing transactions and looking after customers.
Is your agency ready?
Have a look at what is already happening in your own business.
Do your team members know when they can use AI? Do they understand what information must not be shared? Is anyone checking the work it produces? Have you agreed how AI-generated content should sound and when a manager needs to be involved?
If the answer is no…. or you simply do not know…..now is the time to start the conversation.
The Able Agent AI for Estate and Letting Agents course is coming soon.
