Onboarding & first impressions
In June 2021 Dale Eddison onboarded The Able Agent, run by Charlotte Jeffrey-Campbell, founder and director, to support the Ilkley branch team’s preparation for the Level 3 CePAP qualification (Level 3 Certificate in Property Advice and Practice).
Dawn Hermes, sales manager, comments on her first impressions of The Able Agent training platform:![]()
“I was immediately impressed. The resources available are great, with videos that are clear and easy to watch in bitesize chunks. I’ve been selling houses for over thirty years, but it was brilliant to recap knowledge. I learnt new things, including the town and country planning act and new tenancy legislation. We work on sales in our branch, and lettings regulations are often updated, so things I thought I knew had changed. The system gives a fresh approach to training and feels modern and forward-thinking.”
For those who hadn’t studied in recent years, The Able Agent facilitated their journey back into study. Tracy Wardman, Office Manager, says:
“I haven’t done any studying for years, other than in-house training, but the platform is absolutely super. The online modules were well structured, easy to follow and interesting. At any time, we could ask questions fully supported by The Able Agent team.”
Preparing for CePAP
As the training platform is accessible at all times on mobile, tablet or computer, the team were able to fit in training around their schedule and location.
Working individually, and collaborating, to train for their CePAP, Edward Tranmer, branch manager explains:
Successful Outcomes
All members of the team at Ilkley passed their CePAP with flying colours and feel confident using the consolidated knowledge in their day-to-day activities. The training enabled them to have a fully up-to-date understanding of the lettings process and regulation and work closely with colleagues in other branches who deal with rentals.
Reflecting on her experience of using The Able Agent, Margaret Mason adds: “I was scared at first and felt like I’ll never be able to learn all this. But now I realise that I knew so much already. Having done the CePAP I feel really confident.”
Dawn explains how the qualifications will benefit the business:
“Although our team is highly experienced, it’s beneficial to promote that all our staff are fully qualified, demonstrating that extra professionalism to our clients. When our staff are out on valuations or viewings they look and sound more knowledgeable than competitors. Even I feel more confident in my role. You never stop learning, so I would say – do it and enjoy it.”
