Overview

There are many legal obligations specific to property that you need to understand to offer advice to any client, whether Buyer or Tenant, Landlord or Vendor.

This module will help you understand certain legal terminology such as tenure, easements, covenants and also the specific laws you need to be aware of in property.

This module covers for example, EPCs, Housing Health and Safety Rating System, Town and Country Planning, redress schemes and more.  The more professional and knowledgeable you are, the more confident you will be in your service and fee levels.

  • Understand the general laws, regulations and codes of practice, which apply to the whole property sector such as H&S, GDPR and Consumer Protection Regulations
  • Understand the main laws and regulations which apply to residential properties and the negotiation of properties for sale or to rent
  • Explain the statutory regulations for property development, conservation areas and listed buildings
  • Explain the importance of ensuring that all offers are recorded in line with legislation, guidelines and codes of practice relevant to negotiating the sale/rent of properties

This module covers all the key elements of compliance in the property industry, whether for sales or lettings. Key laws such as the Equality Act, Health and Safety, Data Protection, Money Laundering and Consumer Protection Regulations apply in all areas of our industry and also in the service industry as a whole.

We explain these in language we hope will relate to your job role, rather than just giving you the law itself. The benefit of understanding compliance well, not only helps in terms of your professionalism, but protects your company’s interest where there could be a risk of fines or prison sentences!

FAQs

Are Able Agent qualifications Ofqual regulated and nationally recognised?

Yes, the Level 3 CePAP Certificate is an Ofqual regulated course that has been accredited by the Awarding Body ABBE (Awarding Body for the Built Environment). In addition Level 3 CeLAP, Level 3 CeSP (Sales Progression) and Level 3 CeLMA ( Listing & Market Appraisal) are all OfQual regulated.

How do I complete the qualification?

By completing a series of our online courses you can then register for the Level 3 CePAP with us and we can arrange for you to book in a formal exam at one of many national Pearson test centres.

Where can I sit my final online test?

The final assessment for the Level 3 CePAP qualification can be undertaken at test centres across the country. Further instruction will be issued upon sign up and direction on how to arrange your test.

Is the qualification RoPA and Propertymark membership compliant?

The CePAP qualification is Level 3 and Ofqual regulated, the level defined in the RoPA report and expected to be required for licensing. Sign up to our mailing list for Industry updates. CePAP and CeLAP are verified by Propertymark for membership.
